About Us
How Light in the Dark came to be. Why we offer counseling services in Charlotte, Harrisburg, Concord and surrounding areas.
Our Story
I remember a time when I couldn’t escape my strong anxiety and constant feeling of being stuck. Even with a deep faith and continuous effort to grow spiritually, I kept feeling trapped, as if I couldn’t achieve my goals no matter how hard I tried. It was confusing; No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t achieve the breakthrough I wanted.
This tension between my faith and mental well-being made me realize something important: often, we Christians only concentrate on our faith and ignore or even reject our mental health. I understood that for real healing and growth, spiritual and mental health should both be taken into account.
This is why I decided to become a Christian therapist, determined to use psychological tools and Christian values to help others find the progress they were looking for. My goal was to create a therapy approach that connects faith and mental health smoothly, without making clients feel like they have to pick one over the other.
In my work, I help people to include their faith in their everyday lives while dealing with and reducing symptoms such as depression, anxiety, anger, relationship problems, and low self-esteem. Because I have experienced these mental health issues myself, I can relate to my clients. I understand their struggles, not just as a therapist but as someone who has been in the same boat. I’ve felt the same frustration, helplessness, and need for freedom.
